Sales
and Forecasting Database:
The
MIS Sales and Forecasting database provides a worldwide-distributed
database that enables the sales organization to track detailed sales
and forecasting status. Using this technology, sales personnel stay
connected, current, and centrally managed. Sales people work offline
collecting and processing data on their machines. They then use
any Internet connection to Synchronize with a central database at
periodic intervals.
The
Synchronization process moves appropriate data between the laptop
and central database. Each laptop contains a "filter" that restricts
the downloaded data to only the data the particular sales person needs.
This minimizes synchronization time and protects sensitive corporate
data.
The
current data is then used to give manufacturing accurate sales forecasts
so they can anticipate the necessary tooling/personnel needs to
meet the anticipated demand. The service organization links to the
sales process to track service metrics. This provides a cohesive,
accurate and integrated view of the business that enables quick
responses to changing business patterns.
